Our Club

We are basically a social club revolving around 4WD activities.

Training weekends run by a qualified trainer, are available as demand warrants.

An insurance scheme covering vehicles, equipment, off-road camper trailers, camping gear etc is available. 

If you intend to participate in club runs, you will be required within 3 months of joining, to equip your vehicle with UHF radio, appropriate recovery points front and rear and to carry in your vehicle a snatch strap (suitable material to act as an air-brake), rated shackles, all recovery gear to suit your vehicle mass. There is of course other gear you should carry and this will become obvious as you gain experience.

Visitors are welcome on club trips if vacancies are available.

Why Join the O.R.V.C?

Club activities offer support and advice to all four wheel drivers, through personal contact and reference libraries. Probably more important, is the opportunity to gain access to members more experienced in the type of driving likely to be encountered on your trip.

We cater for all makes and models of four wheel drives, whether you be a novice or an experienced driver.

Club Activities

Other activities which compliment trip planning and travel, are social functions, film nights, guest speakers covering a wide variety of topics, technical sessions, 4WD training and inter-club activities.

Each year the club offers a varied range of trips to its members. Day and weekend trips are generally within 200 - 300 kms of Adelaide. Longer trips of 2 to 6 weeks, cover vast areas of Australia.

For peace of mind whilst travelling in the outback, we encourage the use of UHF radio for convoy travel.

If you are interested in joining our Club, you can either view and print an Application Form directly or download one to fill in later. When complete please bring along to one of General Meetings. Visitors are most welcome and we encourage anyone to come along and meet our members.
