PARUNA
26 - 28 May 2006

Gary and Jack, Gary ●, Andrew, George and I arrived at Paruna on Thursday around lunch time.  The welcoming committee, Jock and Graeme, were there waiting for us.  We all arrived  after our trip to Innamincka, which, by the way, was great.  Thanks everybody, especially Spot who took us there.

We set up camp and the guys made a fire for our roast which Andrew and Spot had organised.  However, Andrew had gone for a long walk and when he got back he had blood all over his hand.  He had climbed a barb wire fence thinking it was a short cut (sic).  Spot had to do some first aid.  The cut was deep so now Andrew could not help with the roast!!!

The roast was great, Jock and Graeme joined us.  After tea we waited around the fire for Bev and Gerry.  They arrived right on 10 o’clock.

It was a quiet night and very cold.  In the morning Gary, Jack, Andrew and Spot left to do the Border Track etc. for the day.  We girls went for a walk.  When we got back Denise and Stuart had arrived.  Later Leonie and Greg and then Lorraine arrived.  At night, while we were sitting around the fire, Jan and Dean arrived.

Next morning after breakfast the men and ladies decided to organise the Hilton and there were plenty of supervisors.  Half way through Chris wanted some fencing done.  That left us supervisors without a job so some of us decided to go for a long walk.  Jock and  Bev set the pace and the rest of us tried to keep up.

Everybody was back in time for Happy Hour.  After BBQ tea Chris and family joined us for an enjoyable evening around the fire.  Spot used his healing hands on everybody.  Thanks Spot, it was great.  Chris and his lady friend told us about a local named Old Bazza and local foods.  On Sunday they were taking the club members on a tour called Korah Bore Eco Tours.

In the morning the Innamincka trip group packed up to go home.  The others were getting ready for their tour.

We had a great time, thanks everybody.
